Gaylord Orpyland Hotel

This place is unbelievable! Under climate-controlled glass atriums, we were surrounded by nine acres of lush indoor gardens, winding rivers and pathways, and sparkling waterfalls. There was just so much to see and I think the pictures turned out great. I hope to be able to return at Christmas.

Side note…we pricelined a room for $50.00 and won a room at the nearby Hyatt Place. I would highly reccomend this hotel. Rooms are great, they shuttle you to the Opryland Hotel and the Opry Mills Outlet malls for free, and offer a complimentary breakfast in the morning.

Amicalola Falls

It’s easy to see why this is one of Georgia’s most popular state parks. Amicalola, a Cherokee Indian word meaning “tumbling waters,” is an appropriate name for these 729-foot falls ~~ the tallest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River. And leave it to the Schnaus family to think it would be a great idea to hike up the side! My calves hurt for 3 days!

So my mom thought at one point she was going to have a heart attack! She was a trooper and made it to the top! Just taking a little breather. This is the face of a very angry man trying to be polite on Easter Sunday!
Views from the top.
We all made it…ok so my dad drove up but this is everyone at the top!
